What causes someone to be allergic to pollen?

It seems that 99% of the world has allergies to pollen, and I am the only 1% that has NO allergies.

Why are so many people, and even animals, allergic to pollen?

    It’s to do with the immune system reacting to pollen in a way it reacts to say, a cold virus, your immune system releases histamines to fight off the harmless pollen which it sees as a threat
