How do i know if i have a slight cold or allergies?
i was watching my local news…they said this is allergy season and they talked about some symptoms like stuffy nose…which i have…but i don’t know if i could have a cold instead because my throat also hurts…but that could be because i have been breathing in and out of my mouth only because i can’t through my nose…also i have taken day quil thinking that i have a cold and it helped a little…any ideas?

A cold will go away in a maximum of 7 days. If your symptoms hang on then you can be pretty sure they are allergies.
it’s probably a cold. allergies don’t just come and go. they’re pretty much constant. people with bad allergies can feel the symptoms even when it’s not allergy season. so, i would recommend just taking cold medicine and painkillers and waiting for it to pass. feel better!
Check your temperature …if you have a fever it’s not an allergy…probably a cold orsome other virus.
If your throat hurts you probably have a cold. With allergies you never get aches and pains and only sometimes will you get a headache or cough. If your symptoms get worse over a couple days you have a cold, allergies symptoms will stay the same. Allergies also occur at certain times of the year, but you can get a cold at anytime. Colds will clear up in a few days especially after taking medicine, but allergies will last for a bit longer or as long as you are around what you are allergic to. So keep taking your medicine and i hope it clears up!
The odds are that this time of year it’s not a cold but allergies. The sore throat is from sinus drainage.
its gross BUT true,
if your nose running is green, you are sick
if clear its allergies
also
fever? no fever w/ allergies
sore throat, i would say your sick, not from mouth breathing
MAINLY time will tell, allergies will linger, cold will go away.
if you’ve never had allergies before, you probably dont have them. as others have said the sore throat is a dead giveaway it’s a cold/illness. with allergies i always get itchy/watery eyes, but it differs from person to person.

yes, green or yellow snot is definaly a cold/flu, but a mild can have clear snot.
