Difference between medication side effects and allergic reactions?

Vomiting is rarely considered a true allergic rxn. Hives, swelling, rash, etc are allergic reactions. That doesn’t mean that the medication that makes you vomit shouldn’t be avoided and mentioned to doctors in the future.
Vomiting is always cause to see the doc.
Even if it’s an allergy, you would want to know exactly what component of the medication you are allergic to, so that other medication from the same family of meds can be avoided also.
An allergic reaction is a defined event involving your immune system. Side effects occur due to the drug. Some side effects/allergic reactions occur very quickly and some are delayed. The stereotypical drug allergy does not include nausea/vomiting. If I knew the name of the drug, it would be easier to determine.
