Without treatment, an allergic reaction causing breathing difficulty could kill you. If you experience this seek medical help immediately. Future exposures could be worse. With proper treatment, anywhere from minutes to hours to lingering problems for days. Treatment is the key!
Good Luck, God Bless!

If the allergic "trigger" is removed from your exposure, it could go away in minutes if you are lucky.

If you ingest the trigger, like eating peanuts when allergic to them, it could kill you.

So no easy answer.

See an MD specialist

Its different for different allegens, and the person allergic. If you are having one, get immediate attention. I nearly died from one.

An allergic reaction is a defined event involving your immune system. Side effects occur due to the drug. Some side effects/allergic reactions occur very quickly and some are delayed. The stereotypical drug allergy does not include nausea/vomiting. If I knew the name of the drug, it would be easier to determine.

Vomiting is always cause to see the doc.
Even if it's an allergy, you would want to know exactly what component of the medication you are allergic to, so that other medication from the same family of meds can be avoided also.

Vomiting is rarely considered a true allergic rxn. Hives, swelling, rash, etc are allergic reactions. That doesn't mean that the medication that makes you vomit shouldn't be avoided and mentioned to doctors in the future.

if you've never had allergies before, you probably dont have them. as others have said the sore throat is a dead giveaway it's a cold/illness. with allergies i always get itchy/watery eyes, but it differs from person to person.

someone said: "its gross BUT true,
if your nose running is green, you are sick
if clear its allergies"
yes, green or yellow snot is definaly a cold/flu, but a mild can have clear snot.

if clear its allergies

also
fever? no fever w/ allergies

sore throat, i would say your sick, not from mouth breathing

MAINLY time will tell, allergies will linger, cold will go away.

The odds are that this time of year it's not a cold but allergies. The sore throat is from sinus drainage.

If your throat hurts you probably have a cold. With allergies you never get aches and pains and only sometimes will you get a headache or cough. If your symptoms get worse over a couple days you have a cold, allergies symptoms will stay the same. Allergies also occur at certain times of the year, but you can get a cold at anytime. Colds will clear up in a few days especially after taking medicine, but allergies will last for a bit longer or as long as you are around what you are allergic to. So keep taking your medicine and i hope it clears up!
